The cottage is not on a flood plain and in no danger of any flooding at all.

Otters and kingfishers are occasionally seen  in the river opposite the cottage, barn owls, heron are fairly common. The cottage is also a great centre for visiting bird reserves, see and

There is fishing on the river  after 16th June and only a rod licence is required, in addition there are many local lakes for coarse fish,  Norfolk fishing guide supplied. The cottage is at the end of the River Bure Abbots Hall Fishery so for trout fishing see     For sea fishing try Kirkspray from Wells at

Peter has a couple of bikes that can be borrowed at no charge at the guests own risk.

The cycling in the area is fantastic. Lots of quiet lanes and Aylsham has two defunct railway lines which are now footpaths (and cyclable) and one of which is also a dedicated cycle path.

Cromer has a famous end of the pier show and a cinema.  Sheringam has its Little Theatre. There are many theatres and cinemas in Norwich together with galleries and museums. See Norfolk & Norwich Festival site for events in May and open studios in to June
